π΄ββοΈ Instruction manual for handling a certification for a bicycle-friendly school π΄ββοΈ
π« Introduction
In relation to a bicycle-friendly school, eight main topics are addressed, covering both the infrastructure of the school premises, such as the school grounds or changing rooms/showers, and social aspects, such as awareness campaigns or incentive and reward systems. π«π²
For each main category, there are several subchapters with criteria that must be met for the school to be considered bicycle-friendly.
Students should tour the school together with a school administrator to analyze and document the individual points. π«π
π’ Scoring system
To determine whether a specific point is present or absent in the school, a score between zero and two is assigned:
Some criteria are more important than others; therefore, various factors are taken into account when calculating the schoolβs overall score and certification level:

If the school reaches 248 points, congratulations! π You have achieved the goal of being a 100% bicycle-friendly school. The closer the number is to this value, the better the school's commitment to cycling and cyclists, and the less work is needed for improvements.

Our idea is that each criterion must be accompanied by a comment or justification and photos πΈ (as proof) to support the rating given by the students.
